Visiting Southern California
Southern California is a very large region covering Ventura County
through San Diego, and from the Pacific coast inland to Palm Springs.
There is good hiking in all of these areas. At present, most of the
hikes on this site, however, are located in Los Angeles and Ventura
counties. Some of the nicest hiking is near Pasadena, but you will
also find nice trails on the coast in the Santa Monica mountains.
In the summer, the climate is generally nicer near the coast. In the winter months, the coast cities may be overcast much of the day, and the inland regions will be warmer. While visiting Southern California, there are many things to do besides hiking. There are numerous theme parks, museums, and of course all of Hollywood (not all of which is actually in Hollywood). |
